Multistate Bar Exam Simulator exam mode
This 200-question MBE simulator contains a mix of 28 questions for each of the seven subjects tested in the MBE. Those seven subjects are: Contracts, Torts, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law & Procedure, Evidence, Real Property and Civil Procedure, for a total of 196 questions. The remaining 4 questions are randomly added from the Bar Prep Hero prep tests 1 through 7. The simulator, which contains no hints or explanations, gives you a taste of the real MBE. However, there are some helpful features to keep you focused. The chart to the left of the questions keeps a running account of whether your answers are correct. When you get the correct answer, the corresponding block is colored green. If incorrect, the corresponding block is colored red.
In addition, when your answer is incorrect, the incorrect answer itself will be highlighted in red and the correct answer will be highlighted in green, thus allowing you to compare the right answer instantly with the incorrect one! This will help you to see where you went wrong and to learn from the mistake.
The simulator also allows you to skip an answer and move on to another one. That helps to minimize the pressure and promote steady composure throughout. The feature that lets you start the test all over is also a powerful tool to help you obtain mastery over the material. Although no one can predict the exact questions in the official MBE, your familiarity with answering the Bar Prep Hero multiple-choice questions will be an excellent learning tool for those who use the program extensively and who perform the simulator test in earnest.
Remember that the hardest way to study for the MBE is to try and make a rote memory data bank of legal rules inside your head. Unless you have a recognized and tested photographic memory, you cannot set about to memorize seven massive subject areas of the law. The secret is constantly refining your understanding of the fundamental principles that apply, and in learning how to perform legal analysis to methodically reason the questions through to completion. Admittedly, this is made easier during the prep tests because of the hint and the explanation tools. By the time you get to the simulator exam, however, you should have improved your ability to perform legal reasoning and analysis well enough to work the questions through without additional study aids.
