MBE Online Practice Exam 3 official questions

  • Based on official NCBE content outline for the MBE
  • Updated for April 2026
  • Perfect for law students and bar exam candidates

This practice test will take your studies further by giving you the opportunity to take 100 multiple-choice questions. The real MBE that you’ll take during the bar exam has 200 multiple-choice questions in total, but they’ll be split into a morning and an afternoon session with 100 multiple-choice questions each. So, taking this practice test will be the equivalent of taking one MBE session. All of the multiple-choice questions on this practice test are real questions from past administrations of the MBE, and the questions have been licensed for practice use by the National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE).

This practice test focuses on these legal topics: Criminal Procedure, Real Property, Contracts, Torts, Constitutional Law, and Evidence. The real MBE will test these subjects, as well as Criminal Law and Civil Procedure. Each question tests a legal issue. You’ll be presented with a set of facts that speak to the issue. To answer the question correctly, you’ll need to identify the issue being tested by the question and choose one of four answer options. Although you won’t lose points by selecting an incorrect answer, you won’t gain any points either. You also won’t gain points if you don’t answer the question at all.

Remember that if you find a question too difficult for you to answer with confidence, it’s better to guess the answer than not answer the question at all. There’s a one in four chance that your guess may be right, and you may improve your chances by eliminating obviously wrong answers. If you don’t answer the question, then there’s a 100% chance you’ll receive no points for that question. If you don’t feel certain about a question, you can always make a note of that question, skip it, and come back to it later. You should have enough time at the end of the exam to answer any questions that you may have skipped earlier.

One crucial aspect of success on the bar exam is time management. Many people neglect this when preparing for the bar, but without the ability to manage time on the exam, you’re less likely to pass. You need to complete all 100 questions in three hours. For any question you don’t answer, that’s one less point on the MBE. During this practice exam, focus on making sure that you answer all 100 questions. To prepare for the MBE’s three-hour time limit, try to complete this practice exam in three hours.
