MBE Online Practice Exam 4 official questions

  • Based on official NCBE content outline for the MBE
  • Updated for April 2026
  • Perfect for law students and bar exam candidates

To pass the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), you need to have a strong understanding of the black-letter law that will be tested on the bar exam. But you also need to be prepared for the standardized, multiple-choice question format of the MBE. The MBE is a set of 200 standardized multiple-choice questions that are worth half of the total score on the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE). Almost all jurisdictions that don’t use the UBE still use the MBE, although the MBE may be weighted differently depending on the jurisdiction. Louisiana and Puerto Rico are the only jurisdictions that don’t use the MBE, but they still have a multiple-choice component in their bar exams. Therefore, regardless of the state, you need to be well-prepared to pass the exam’s multiple-choice section. No matter where you’re taking the exam, our multiple-choice practice exams can help you boost your score and pass the bar!

On exam day, the 200 MBE multiple-choice questions will be split into two halves. To simulate the experience of taking a 100-question MBE multiple-choice session, we created this 100-question practice test. The test focuses on Real Property, Contracts, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, and Torts. You’ll be given a series of fact patterns in each subject, each worth equally in the overall exam score. After reading each question, you’ll need to look at four answer options and determine which one is best. Note that with many questions, two or more answer options could be a plausible answer to the question. In these situations, you’ll need to use your best judgment to decide which answer best answers the question. In other words, not every answer option will necessarily be a bad answer, but the right answer will always be the best answer.

This practice test isn’t timed, so it’s at your discretion whether to time yourself during the practice exam. Although the exam doesn’t have a built-in timer, you can time yourself to take the exam in three hours, which is the same amount of time that you’ll have to answer 100 questions on the MBE. You should spend an average of one minute and forty-eight seconds on each question.
