MBE Online Practice Exam 9 official questions

  • Based on official NCBE content outline for the MBE
  • Updated for April 2026
  • Perfect for law students and bar exam candidates

For many aspiring attorneys, taking the bar exam is the most stressful part of becoming a lawyer. In particular, the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE) can be a cause of concern for test-takers due to its length. The MBE has 200 multiple-choice questions that must be completed in six hours. At first glance, a quarter of an entire day may seem like ample time to take an exam, yet test-takers can struggle to complete the exam in that time. The MBE’s 200 questions have complicated fact patterns that cover various legal subjects and test specific legal rules. You have less than two minutes to read a prompt, look at the four answer options, then decide which answer is best. Many people just barely complete all 200 questions in the six hours available.

At first glance, the MBE may seem an insurmountable challenge. But don’t be alarmed by the length or breadth of the MBE. With enough practice, you can master the MBE and pass the real thing easily on exam day. Practicing real MBE questions from past exams is just as essential to success on the bar exam as is learning the black-letter law. Taking real multiple-choice questions prepares you to apply the legal rules to fact patterns, discern which answer is best, and strengthen your skills in time management. Practicing using past exams can also help you manage the stress that comes with studying for the bar exam. To help you study, we’ve designed this multiple-choice practice test. The test has 100 real MBE questions from past administrations of the bar exam. The questions focus on Real Property, Evidence, Torts, Contracts, and Constitutional Law. Since the National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE) tends to reuse questions from previous exams, it’s possible that one or more questions on this practice test will appear on your bar exam.

We recommend reviewing the exam after you’ve taken it. Reviewing a completed exam will tell you your strengths, weaknesses, and what would work best for you as a future study strategy. For example, you might find that you’re stronger at Torts questions than Constitutional Law, meaning you need to put more effort into Torts.
