The Alaska Bar Exam is a 2-day Uniform Bar Exam (UBE). Day 1 consists of 6 30-minute Multistate Essay Exam questions (MEE) in the AM and two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test questions (MPT) in the PM. Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam, with 100 questions being asked in the AM, and another 100 in the PM.
Alaska Constitutional Law, Alaska Contracts/Sales, Alaska Criminal Law/Procedure, Alaska Evidence, Alaska Property, Alaska Torts, Business Organizations (Corporations, Partnerships, Business Associations), Civil Procedure, Family Law, Remedies (for applicable topics), Contracts, Criminal Law and Procedure, Constitutional Law, Evidence, Real Property, and Torts.
A scaled score of 80 on the MPRE is required for admission.

Both the MEE and MPT scores are scaled to the MBE. The MBE is weighted 50%, the MEE 30% and the MPT 20%. The scores are combined to determine if the applicant has achieved the minimum passing score of 280.
Results are released by April 15th for the February exam and by September 15th for the July Exam.
The Alaska Bar Association does not accept MBE scores from other jurisdictions.
In order to be eligible for admission without taking the Alaska Bar Exam, the applicant must have taken and passed a written bar exam in a reciprocal state or DC, and have engaged in the active practice of law for 5 of the 7 years immediately preceding the application. The applicant must also have passed the MPRE and meet other admission requirements.
Applications must be filed by December 1st for the February exam and May 1st for the July exam. Late filing is allowed until January 15th and June 15th, respectively.
