The Arizona Bar Exam is a 2-day Uniform Bar Exam (UBE). Day 1 consists of six 30-minute MEE (Multistate Essay Exam) questions in the morning and two 90-minute MPT (Multistate Performance Test) questions in the afternoon. Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam, where 100 questions are administered in the AM, and another 100 -- in the PM.

What’s the minimum score for MPRE?

A scaled score of 85 on the MPRE is required for admission within two years prior to or five years after a successful Arizona bar examination.

How is Arizona Bar Exam scored?

The MBE is weighted 1/2 (50%) of total score, the essay (MEE) part is weighted 1/3 (30%) of total score, and MPT -- 1/5 (20%) to determine if the applicant has achieved a minimum passing score of 273 points.

When are Arizona Bar Exam results released?

Results are released in early May for the February exam and early October for the July exam.

Can I transfer my MBE scores from another jurisdiction?

Arizona does not accept the transfer of any MBE score from an exam taken in another jurisdiction.

What about AZ Bar Exam reciprocity?

In order to be eligible for admission without taking the Arizona Bar Exam, the applicant must be a member in good standing of a reciprocating state bar and have engaged in the active practice of law for 5 of the 7 years immediately preceding the application. The applicant must also be a graduate of an ABA accredited law school.
