The Delaware State Bar Association (DSBA) was founded in 1923. Membership in the DSBA is voluntary, and approximately 90% of lawyers who practice in Delaware are members of the state bar association.

Yes, Delaware participates in the UBE. Like all other UBE jurisdictions, Delaware offers two opportunities to take the bar exam every year: in February and July.

What is the structure of the UBE?

The Uniform Bar Exam (UBE) comprises three sections: a six-question essay test known as the Multistate Essay Exam (MEE), an exam that tests your ability to draft standard documents as a lawyer known as the Multistate Performance Test (MPT), and a 200-question multiple-choice test known as the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE).

What subjects are tested on the UBE?

Conflicts of Laws, Constitutional Law, Torts, Contracts, Sales, Secured Transactions, Real Property, Family Law, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Evidence, Business Associations, and Criminal Procedure.

When do bar results come out?

Bar results typically come out six to eight weeks after the exam.

What other requirements does Delaware have before you can take the bar exam?

What is the minimum score you must have on the MPRE?

In Delaware, you must score an 85 or greater on the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE).
