Support Conference

What is Support Conference?

Every state has different procedures, but the support process, after filing a petition, starts with a somewhat informal meeting with a support officer who collects the income information from both parties, tax returns, and asks basic income and work history questions, followed by a recommended support amount. One or both parties have a right to appeal and ask for a formal hearing before the Court.
