What is Asbestos?

A fibrous silicate mineral that was used extensively as insulation in construction and in other products. It may cause asbestosis, an incurable lung disease, and mesothelioma, an aggressive form of lung cancer. Those at risk are workers compelled to work around it for extended periods, leading to past and present voluminous litigation against manufacturers and employers.
