What is Lost Wages?

An element of damages recoverable by the plaintiff in a tort claim. Lost wages represents a limited amount calculated as what the plaintiff would have earned normally if the accident had not occurred. This may be proved by reference to the employer's official records of time not spent at work due to injuries.
