The Missouri Bar Exam is a 2-day Uniform Bar Exam (UBE). Day 1 consists of two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) questions and six 30-minute Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) questions. Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam.
Business Associations (Agency and Partnership; Corporations and Limited Liability Companies), Conflict of Laws, Family Law, Federal Civil Procedure, Trusts and Estates (Decedents’ Estates; Trusts and Future Interests), UCC (Negotiable Instruments/Commercial Paper, Secured Transactions), Contracts, Criminal Law and Procedure, Constitutional Law, Evidence, Real Property, and Torts.
A scaled score of 80 on the MPRE received by the Missouri Board within one year after the date of written notification of passing the Missouri Bar Exam is required for admission.

MBE is weighted 50%, the MEE is 30%, and the MPT is 20%. The scores are scaled and combined to determine if a passing score of 260 out of a possible 400 points was achieved.

Missouri accept MBE scores from other jurisdictions provided: the applicant has not previously failed the Missouri Bar Exam; the transferred MBE scored was attained within the 19 months preceding the Missouri exam; and the applicant passed the entire bar exam in one administration in the transferring jurisdiction. Applicants may use a transferred MBE score only one time.
In order to be eligible for admission without taking the Missouri Bar Exam, the applicant must be a hold an active license in a reciprocal state and have engaged in the active practice of law from a physical location within a jurisdiction in which the applicant is licensed for 5 of the 10 years immediately preceding the application. The applicant must be a graduate of an ABA accredited law school and cannot have failed the Missouri Bar Exam within the preceding 7 years.
