The South Carolina Bar Exam is a 2-day Uniform Bar Exam (UBE)exam. Day 1 consists of six 30-minute Multistate Essay Exam questions in the morning and two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test questions in the afternoon. Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam.
Business Law, Civil Procedure, Commercial Law, Domestic Relations, Equity, Insurance, Wills, Trusts & Estates, Contracts, Criminal Law and Procedure, Constitutional Law, Evidence, Real Property, and Torts.
A scaled score of 77 on the MPRE achieved no more than four years from the date of application is required for admission.

Both the MEE and MPT scores are scaled to the MBE. The MBE weighted 50%, the MEE 30%, and the MPT 20%. The scores are combined to determine if a passing score of 266 is achieved.
Results are released in late April for the February exam and in late October for the July exam.
South Carolina accepts MBE scores from other jurisdictions only if from a concurrent bar exam.
South Carolina does not provide for admission on motion; examination is required of all applicants. In some situations, a special application may be made by a dean or tenured professor of the University of South Carolina.
