What is Product Liability?

Products liability refers to the liability of any or all parties along the chain of manufacturing or marketing of a product that is defective and unreasonably dangerous to the intended user. Strict liability in tort, Section 402A of the Restatement, may apply along with negligence, as the major causes of action that may be asserted in a product liability claim.
